Love premium local wine? Love spoiling your dog? Mark your calendars for Sunday, 25 October 2026, because Wine Dogs New Zealand is officially back!

This year, the famous festival takes over the stunning, picturesque grounds of Luna Estate (located at 133 Puruatanga Road, Martinborough) for an unforgettable Labour Weekend.

Following last year's completely sold-out 2025 event, tickets are in demand. Ticket options include Early Dog Admission for $50 (while available), General Admission for $65, and Little Pups passes for kids under 12 for $10.

Whether you’re a returning regular or treating your best mate to their first vineyard adventure, this festival brings together Wairarapa’s boutique wine culture and a celebration of our four-legged companions.

What to expect on the trail

The gates throw open at 10:00 am on Sunday, 25 October 2026, with the famous synchronised wine and dog walk kicking off promptly at 11:00 am. Don't be late! You and your pup will enjoy a premium loop through the vines featuring:

  • For the humans: refreshing wine tasting stations strategically positioned along the trail to sample Luna Estate's premier drops.
  • For the pups: gourmet treat installations along the track to keep tails wagging all morning.

Wine Dogs 2026 vendors and sponsors

This year’s festival features local brands offering treats and goodies for your dog. Make sure to visit:

  • Omega Plus (official dog treat sponsor): as a primary sponsor of the event, the team from Omega Plus will be fuelling the trail, supplying their signature high-quality King Salmon dog treats at installations along the walk to keep your dog energised and focused.
  • The Pupsicle Co-Op: keep your dog cool and refreshed between events with a stop at this boutique vendor, serving up an array of delicious, entirely dog-safe frozen ice-cream treats that pups absolutely love.

After the walk: more festival fun

Once the trail walk wraps up, the festival area transforms into the ultimate afternoon playground. You can look forward to:

  • Fashion parades: yes, these are strictly for the dogs too! Let your pup strut their stuff and show off their finest vineyard attire.
  • Prizes for the best-dressed dog and best matching human/dog pair: make sure you coordinate your outfits for a chance to take home some top-tier loot.
  • Photo booths: photo setups to capture memories of you and your best mate.
  • Music by Willy Prior & DJ Takas: providing the perfect soundtrack to keep the energy up and the good vibes rolling all afternoon.
  • Food trucks, wine, and chill zones: the perfect space to grab a bite, enjoy a premium vino and kick back for the afternoon with your pack.

Make a weekend of it: dog-friendly camping nearby

Don’t forget to book your accommodation early! To transform your festival day into an unforgettable long weekend adventure, you can camp locally right alongside your pup.

Located just 15 minutes down the road from Luna Estate is the Stonycroft Motorhome Park, offering the ultimate rustic base camp for Wine Dogs and the wider Martinborough vineyard trail. Before throwing your gear in the boot, check out our guide to hiking and camping with your dog to ensure you've packed all the essential campsite containment gear!

Stonycroft camping details:
